Professional experience

Yoon Chung Kim concentrates her practice on tax consultancy for federal, state and municipal taxes (legal opinions, memorandum, support for tax inspections, defenses/appeals against infraction notices, tax benefits, immunities and exemptions, tax treaties, special tax rescheduling programs and tax amnesties, among others) and tax litigation (administrative and judicial sphere).

Also, she has vast expertise in tax matters and litigation issues, notably concerning taxation on specific segments and products subject to special tax regulation (such as cosmetics, perfumery and hygiene industry, pharmaceutical, medical hospital products, agribusiness, food and beverage etc.) and importation/manufacturing/distribution/sale chain of products.

She performed as tax lawyer in a Brazilian leading law firm over 20 years. Also, she has experience as head of the legal department of a multinational company (cosmetic and dermo-cosmetic); and international experience as foreign correspondent at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBDF) in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), for international and domestic Brazilian tax matters.

 

Education

• Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).

 

Additional Activities

• Foreign correspondent at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBDF), related to Internacional Fiscal Association (IFA), in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), being in charge of Brazilian tax matters and focusing on cross-border taxation, international tax treaties and e-commerce;
• Participation in congresses of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the International Bar Association (IBA);
• Participation in congresses of the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT) and other institutions in Brazil.
