We believe that the way to fostering fairness and equality in our society is to engage our team in pro bono and voluntary legal assistance in favor of individuals and nonprofit organizations and their community, whenever they cannot afford an attorney. Our firm considers pro bono services an important tool to develop the idea of responsibility and social purpose of our profession in our young professionals.
Our team is encouraged to act in pro bono projects. We also rely on an internal team which is responsible for monitoring ongoing pro bono cases and prospect new projects.
See below some of our recent pro bono cases:
• “Projeto Gauss”, a non-profit association operating in São Paulo/SP, Curitiba/PR, Brasília/DF, and Aracaju/SE, that supports young adults with high potential but under social vulnerability to access university by offering scholarships for preparatory courses, mentorship, financial and multidisciplinary support.
• Support to disadvantaged communities such as the “Morro da Mangueira” favela (located in Rio de Janeiro/RJ), assisting artists in the collection and organization of their copyrights and providing career guidance to new artists in music, visual arts, and cinema.
• Legal assistance to young Brazilian artists, such as writers and musicians, regarding agreements and licenses related to publication and exhibitions;
• Legal assistance to students of the ITA (abbreviation for the Portuguese translation of Technological and Aeronautical Institute), a university institution specialized in science and technology.
