Professional experience

Marcela Joelsons has more than 10 years of experience in counseling large companies from the most varied sectors in consultancy and litigation matters.   

Her practice stands out with the achievement of important court decisions and agreements handling strategic resolution of highly complex corporate disputes, especially in the areas of consumer law, contracts, and civil liability. She is also expert in class actions involving homogeneous individual rights and diffuse rights in consumer relations.   

She represents clients in administrative proceedings before consumer protection agencies, as well as in civil investigations before the Public Prosecutor’s Office.   

She is also responsible for adapting projects to comply with the General Law of Protection of Personal Data (LGPD) and the GDPR of the European Union, focusing on the analysis of risks, liabilities, and opportunities.   

She is a researcher of topics related to new consumer rights, with special emphasis on personal data protection, at renowned educational institutions.
