]]> The Industrial Design registration protects the ornamental character or graphic patterns to be applied to objects, being suitable for a wide variety of industrialized products.

As a result of the approval by the Brazilian Senate, Brazil has become part of the Hague Agreement as an official member, which leads to the streamlining of procedures and reduction of costs associated with industrial designs registration.

The Hague Agreement provides a protection option for Industrial Designs through an international application filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the notification of countries of particular interest, which might express their respective interests in granting or denying the protection.

Currently, 94 countries, including the US, the European Union, and Japan are members of the Hague Agreement.
