CONSEMA regulates the Environmental License by Commitment – LAC in the State of Rio Grande do Sul

The State Council of Environment (CONSEMA) published, this Wednesday (12/29/2021), the Resolution nº 455 that determined the procedures and criteria of the environmental licensing by commitment in Rio Grande do Sul.

The LAC will authorize the installation and operation of the licensed businesses, as long as the requirements provided in the normative are met (including the submission of the documents listed on its Annex II), and will be in place for the period of five to ten years, which will be up to the criteria of the licensing environmental agency.

The activities which are subject to licensing by LAC are listed on the Annex I of the Resolution nº 455, among which are the small and medium size of silviculture activities, for instance.

The Resolution also sets the activities that are not subject to LAC, such as those which require intervention in Permanent Preservation Areas and those which generate effluent in their production process.
