Professional experience
Marcel holds an LL.M. in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from New York University (2019), a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of São Paulo (2017), and an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2013). He also studied at Sciences Po in Paris (2012). He has over a decade of experience in domestic and international arbitration and complex civil and commercial litigation, with a practice spanning commercial contracts, construction and infrastructure, energy, insurance and reinsurance, enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, and U.S. discovery proceedings under 28 U.S.C. § 1782 in aid of foreign proceedings.
Marcel spent a significant portion of his career in New York, focusing on international arbitration and litigation before U.S. courts. His practice involved cross-border disputes across the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Marcel is admitted to practice in New York and Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, with professional working proficiency in French.
