National Council of justice holds public consultation on quantification of environmental damage
Brazil’s National Council of Justice has opened a public consultation to collect technical and legal clarification, methodologies, indicators, and good practices for the determination and quantification of environmental damage.
There are six priority topics: geoprocessing tools; vegetation and natural resources; greenhouse gases; air, soil, and water pollution as well as mining and fauna; indigenous peoples and traditional communities; loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
Individuals and legal entities with recognised expertise in the field are invited to participate. Contributions must be sent in writing via an electronic form (available in Portuguese only) or e-mail to sep@cnj.jus.br until 8 October 2022.
